You can now turn news articles into greentext stories. Whether it’s breaking news, weird headlines, or absurd current events, the generator transforms any article into authentic 4chan-style greentext.
This isn’t just copy-pasting. The AI reads your article, analyzes the narrative, considers multiple perspectives, and picks the funniest or most interesting angle to tell the story from.
The 10-second version
- Click the “From News” tab in the generator
- Paste any news article text
- (Optional) Pick a genre or add your take
- Hit generate
- Get a greentext story in ~10 seconds
The AI does all the heavy lifting: figuring out who should narrate, what’s funny, and how to structure it as greentext.
What makes it different from story mode?
Story mode is great when you know what you want. But news mode? That’s for when you’ve got raw material—a news article, a Wikipedia page, a blog post—and you want it retold as greentext.
Here’s what happens behind the scenes:
5-stage reasoning pipeline:
- Reads the article and extracts the core event
- Generates 3 different perspectives the story could be told from
- Picks the best one based on your genre and angle
- Identifies story beats and emotional arc
- Writes the greentext
The whole process takes 8-12 seconds because the AI is actually thinking through the story structure. It’s not just mashing your article into greentext format—it’s reinterpreting it.

Paste a news article and see what the AI comes up with. No signup, no cost.
Why use this?
Turn current events into memes Every absurd headline is greentext material. Political drama, tech failures, celebrity nonsense—if it’s weird, it’s greentext-worthy.
Commentary without essays Got opinions about a news story? Skip the think piece. Add your angle in the generator and let the AI weave it into the narrative.
Event-driven storytelling Instead of making up a story from scratch, use real events as your foundation. The AI handles the perspective and pacing.
How to use it (step by step)
Step 1: Switch to “From News” tab
When you open the generator, you’ll see two tabs at the top:
- Story (the original generator)
- From News (the new mode)
Click “From News” to switch.
Step 2: Paste your article
Find any news article, blog post, or text-based story online. Copy the text and paste it into the big textarea.
You can paste up to ~15,000 words (200k characters). The AI will read it all and distill it down to the key narrative.
Note: No URL scraping yet. You’ll need to copy-paste the article text manually. That’s a v2 feature.
Step 3: (Optional) Pick a genre
Just like story mode, you can influence the vibe:
- Default — Classic 4chan style
- Blackpill — Nihilistic, cynical take
- Wholesome — Positive spin on the story
- No GF — Relationship struggles angle
- Creepypasta — Horror retelling
- Cope — Self-deception and rationalization
- Billions Must Die — Absurdist, over-the-top
Same article, different genre = completely different greentext.
Step 4: (Optional) Add your take
Click “Advanced options” to expand two powerful settings:
Perspective mode:
- AI decides perspective (default) — Let the AI pick the most interesting narrator
- Personal perspective — First-person “be me” style, as if you were there
Your angle: A short phrase that tells the AI how you see the story.
Examples:
- “This is clown world”
- “Everyone involved is incompetent”
- “This is actually kind of sad”
The AI interprets your take and bakes it into the story’s tone and perspective.
Step 5: Generate
Hit the Generate button.
You’ll see: “Cooking in retard kitchen…” with a note about the 10-second wait. That’s normal. News mode uses a reasoning model that takes longer than story mode.
After 8-12 seconds, your greentext appears.
Examples
Let’s say you paste an article about a politician getting caught in a scandal.
Default genre:
Blackpill genre, angle: “system is broken”:
Same article. Different angle. Completely different story.
Advanced features
Perspective modes explained
AI decides perspective (default):
The AI looks at the article and generates 3 possible narrators:
- The politician himself
- A staffer watching it unfold
- An anonymous observer
Then it picks the funniest or most interesting one.
Personal perspective:
Forces first-person framing. The AI puts you (or the main character) inside the event.
If the article is about a specific person (like “Elon Musk fires 80% of Twitter staff”), you get:
If it’s a general situation (like “Economy crashes due to housing bubble”), you get:
Using “Your angle” effectively
Think of it as interpretive guidance. You’re not writing the story—you’re setting the tone.
Good angles:
- “This guy is a genius”
- “Peak bureaucracy”
- “Natural selection at work”
- “Media is lying”
Bad angles:
- “Make it funny” (too vague)
- Full sentences or paragraphs (keep it short)
The AI reflects on what your angle implies and embeds it narratively. It doesn’t just paste your opinion into the greentext.
Can I use it for non-news?
Yes. It’s optimized for news articles, but it works with:
- Wikipedia articles
- Blog posts
- Academic paper summaries
- Product announcements
- Long-form tweets
Basically, anything with a narrative or event structure. The AI will find the story and greentext it.
Just don’t expect perfect results on:
- Extremely technical content without a story
- Poetry or abstract writing
- Lists without narrative flow
Technical note: why does it take 10 seconds?
Story mode takes 2-3 seconds. News mode takes 8-12 seconds.
That’s because news mode uses a reasoning model (grok-4-1-fast-reasoning) instead of a fast generation model.
The AI isn’t just generating text—it’s analyzing perspectives, evaluating story structure, and making narrative decisions. All that reasoning happens internally (you don’t see it), but it takes time.
Think of it like this:
- Story mode = You give the AI a clear prompt, it writes
- News mode = You give the AI raw material, it figures out the story first, then writes
The extra seconds are worth it. You get way better perspective selection and story structure.
Limitations (for now)
v1 doesn’t include:
- URL scraping (you have to copy-paste the text manually)
- Automatic headline detection
- One-click regenerate with different perspective
- Saving/sharing news greentexts
These are all v2+ features. For now, it’s text-in, greentext-out.
FAQ
How long should my article be?
Anything from a few paragraphs to 15,000 words. The AI handles it all.
Short article = tighter greentext.
Long article = AI summarizes and picks the key moments.
What if my article is behind a paywall?
Copy the text from an archive service (like Archive.is) or use reader mode in your browser.
Can I paste multiple articles?
One at a time. If you want to combine perspectives from multiple sources, paste them as one text block.
Does it work with languages other than English?
Not tested. The AI is trained on English-language 4chan content, so non-English articles might produce weird results.
What if the greentext is bad?
Hit regenerate. The AI picks from 3 perspectives, but sometimes it misses. If you get a boring narrator, try again or adjust your angle.
Can I use this for creative writing?
Absolutely. Paste your own stories, rough drafts, or creative prompts. The AI will restructure them as greentext.
